چکیده
We report a broadband study of the charge dynamics in van der Waals (vdW) magnetic materials 2H-$M_x$TaS$_2$ ($M$ = Mn and Co), which span onset both long-range antiferromagnetic (AFM) ferromagnetic (FM) order, depending on intercalation $M$ its concentration $x$. discover spectral weight ($SW$) shift from high to low energy scales for FM compositions, while reversely $SW$ is removed towards energies AFM compounds. This maps related reconstruction electronic band structure along crossover restores an occupation balance density states between spin majority minority bands intercalated 3$d$ elements.

Quantifying electronic band interactions in van der Waals materials using angle-resolved reflected-electron spectroscopy
High electron mobility is one of graphene's key properties, exploited for applications and fundamental research alike. Highest mobility values are found in heterostructures of graphene and hexagonal boron nitride, which consequently are widely used. However, surprisingly little is known about the interaction between the electronic states of these layered systems. Rather pragmatically, it is ass...
متن کاملNote: Mechanical in situ exfoliation of van der Waals materials.
Exfoliation, namely, the peeling of layered materials down to a single unit-cell thin foil, opens promising avenues to fabricate novel electronic materials. New properties and original functionalities emerge in the single and few layer configurations of a number of layered compounds, in particular in transition metal dichalcogenides. However, many of these thin exfoliated materials are very sen...
متن کاملScaling laws for van der Waals interactions in nanostructured materials
Van der Waals interactions have a fundamental role in biology, physics and chemistry, in particular in the self-assembly and the ensuing function of nanostructured materials. Here we utilize an efficient microscopic method to demonstrate that van der Waals interactions in nanomaterials act at distances greater than typically assumed, and can be characterized by different scaling laws depending ...
متن کاملTunable Electronic Properties in van der Waals Heterostructure Germanene/Germanane
It is challenging to epitaxially grow germanene on conventional semiconductor substrate. Based on first-principles calculations, we investigate the structural and electronic properties of germanene/germanane heterostructure (HTS). The results indicate that the Dirac cone with nearly linear band dispersion of germanene maintains in the band gap of substrate. Remarkably, the band gap opened in th...
